“A smiling face is the mirror of our body and can heal sick
patients” – Last March I came here for check-up. I was then referred to Dr.
Espinosa so I went to his clinic. He sent me back here for EEG. The staff
downstairs at the front office did the EEG for me right away so I had the time
to go back to Dr. Espinosa who interpreted the result. It was done so fast that
we had the time to go back to Ilocos that same day. I thank the staff very much.
To Lorma as a whole, thank you so much and may God bless you all. All the staff

Lorma Dialysis Center Now Open!

Lorma Medical Center inaugurated and dedicated its new Dialysis Center
on December 2007. The Center's dedication was officiated by Pastor
Francis Carpio, Lorma's Hospital Chaplain, and attended by LMC's
Medical Director, Dr. Mario Bautista, Nursing Services Director, Mrs.
Ofelia C. Pulido, Dialysis Center Head, Dr. Virginia Biteng, Mrs.
Helen Subala and Mrs. Teresa Bengson, Nursing Supervisors, Mrs. Shiela
Frankera, OR Head Nurse, Mrs. Angeline Madrid, Dialysis Head Nurse,
Ms. Carinan, Dialysis Nurse, and all other Dialysis Center staff.
Located on the 5th floor of the new Medical Arts Building, overlooking the China Sea and the green covered hills of La Union, the spacious modern facility became fully operational in January 2008. With the Dialysis Center operating at three shifts (7 a.m. to 11 a.m., 12 noon to 4 p.m., 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.), about twenty patients could be accommodated in a day.
Some
amenities include a portable DVD player for each patient to listen to, while
undergoing the four-hour treatment. A separate waiting area exclusively for the
watchers, equipped with a HD color TV, serves as a resting and a viewing area
while awaiting the completion of relative's treatment.
The opening of the Lorma Dialysis Center is a result of the
hospital’s recent expansion efforts, and is a step toward Lorma's fulfilling its
vision as the leading private referral center for tertiary cases in Northern
Luzon, offering a wide range of diverse services to meet the growing
health-related needs of the public. Since its opening in January 2008, the Lorma
Dialysis Center has served a total of 59 new and existing patients.

Dialysis Center--
Mrs. Jocelyn Bautista, the Renal Disease Control Program
Coordinator of the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Office in San Fernando,
La Union, said in an interview, that there are 15 dialysis centers in Northern
Luzon, which she visits quarterly to tract down the number of patients availing
of the treatment.
Patients suffering from chronic and uncontrolled Diabetes, Hypertension,
Nephrosclerosis, Anemia, and Glumerulonephritis could obtain treatment from any
of these dialysis centers nearest to their area. She further said that active
GSIS members and pensioners are entitled to 30% discount for each treatment, and
dependents of active members are given 10%. Lorma Medical Center
participates in the GSIS Hospital Support Program that gives GSIS discounts on
top of PhilHealth discounts.
