I wish to thank all the staff/employees who extended their unselfish and dedicated assistance while I was at the Center. Special mention to Dr. Hidegunda Santos, Medicard coordinator, the HMO staff (the two ladies from the billing section), Mr. Oliver Hufana and his staff (MRI section), and the nursing students who assisted at the MRI section.
THANK YOU ALL. .

“A smiling face is the mirror of our body and can heal sick
patients” – Last March I came here for check-up. I was then referred to Dr.
Espinosa so I went to his clinic. He sent me back here for EEG. The staff
downstairs at the front office did the EEG for me right away so I had the time
to go back to Dr. Espinosa who interpreted the result. It was done so fast that
we had the time to go back to Ilocos that same day. I thank the staff very much.
To Lorma as a whole, thank you so much and may God bless you all. All the staff
and employees of Lorma Hospital are very friendly. I’m very glad to see their
smiling faces every morning.
Keep up your good work!!!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SMC Accredits Lorma Medical Center
By: San Miguel Corporation Press Department, June 29, 2005, Manila, Philippines.
San Miguel Corporation (SMC), the country’s leading beverage, food and packaging conglomerate recently accredited Lorma Medical Center (LMC), based in San Fernando City, La Union, as one of its healthcare providers in Northern Luzon.
LMC will administer the annual physical examination of San Miguel employees in the region through the use of its Mobile Clinic which, will make the rounds of Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur/Norte and Baguio.
In a recent meeting with LMC officials, Dr. Alfredo Balintong, SMC Northern Luzon Physician-at-Large, said “LMC’s pursuit of excellence in the delivery of healthcare services is in line with SMC’s commitment to providing quality medical care for its employees. Our company believes that its employees are its assets. As such, their health and well-being are always a priority.”
Also present during the meeting were Dr. Pablo Santos, Healthcare Manager of Coca- Cola, Dr. Enrique Pagulayan, SMC Northern Luzon Healthcare Manager and Ms. Nikki Nicdao, SMC Hospital Coordinator.
For its part, Lorma Medical Center viewed the accreditation as a “welcomed challenge.”
Having provided medical care for the top corporations in La Union and Region 1 (domestic and foreign), LMC expressed confidence that it can meet the high standards of providing healthcare for companies such as San Miguel.
“In addition to quality healthcare services, we at LMC strive to provide superior hospital support services,” said Lorma Inc. Executive Vice President Robert F. Kaiser, Jr.
“This means all departments in the hospital work together as a team. Everyone, from doctors to nurses, finance people to marketing officers, are encouraged to work with each other to achieve our goal of delivering remarkable, exceptional healthcare to patients at all times.”
LMC is also working on its ISO 9001 certification to further standardize their healthcare delivery system.
In addition to standardized systems, LMC is expanding its facilities. It recently opened the first and only MRI Center in Northern Luzon.
Construction of a new five-storey Medical Arts building is also underway. The building will house a new emergency room, specialists’ offices, additional special patient rooms and a helipad. More operating rooms are also being constructed to meet the need for state-of-the-art operating facilities in the region.###
