Institute of Nuclear Medicine, Lorma Medical Center now offers other necessary laboratory tests and treatments, like RIA, thyroid uptake, and radioactive iodine therapy, in addition to body scans.

RIA stands for Radioimmunoassay. This is a laboratory test used to measure the concentration of biological substances such as enzymes, hormones, steroids, and vitamins in blood, urine, saliva, or other body fluids. RIA is an important research tool and has been used in hospitals to help diagnose diabetes, thyroid disorders, hypertension, reproductive problems, and other disorders.
